| You get a sense of what life was like before Illinois was widely inhabited by people. Wide open spaces full of only native animals, a homestead complete with livestock-it really takes you back to a simpler time. Not to mention stocked with modern day conveniences for when you need them. Nice clean facilities, lovely buildings, great gift shop. It's set up like nowhere else I've seen, so it's a novelty and a nice change from unnatural zoo enclosures and paved, treeless lanes. A very naturalized, scenic environment well worth the trip! Go see it if you're close to the area. |
