Visiting Spring Mill state park is like combining several daytrips. There is so much to do.
Let's begin by stepping back in time and walking through a pioneer village. The cabins are original. There is a working mill where you can still buy cornmeal. The general store has a little of everything. People dressed in vintage clothes are doing demonstrations of how life was back when the village was inhabited. This is a treat in itself.
Next let's walk a trail. There are several to chose from with all difficulty levels. The trails lead all over the park. The tranquil forest looms above your heads and you take in nothing but the beauty surrounding you and the fresh air.
Getting hungry? If you brought a picnic this is the perfect park to spread out your blanket and snack. There is nothing like finding a secluded spot and just relaxing. Don't forget to take a book and indulge yourself.
Ready for some adventure. This park overs several caves just waiting to be expored. The twin caves are a site to see. You can reach these by starting at a trail head and walking only a fraction of a mile. Or how about taking a boat through a cave. Spring Mill offers boat rides through one cave. It is spectacular. Don't miss this one.
Now why don't you take a break by a serene stream flowing through the park or grab your fishing poles. The fish are waiting for you. Would you rather take a walk through the nature center. No matter what you do next you won't be disappointed.
Are you ready for some good cooking. Go to the Spring Mill Inn and have their dinner buffet. It is wonderful. They have so much to chose from including several meats, lots of vegetables, breads, and a dessert bar out of this world. The last time I went they had about 20 different kinds of homemade deserts.
Okay since you have now eaten so much you can't move might as well stay in the luxurious Inn and start all over tomorrow.
