| The 430-acre park is located along the side of Dorset Mountain with Emerald Lake, the head waters of Otter Creek, at its base. Trails throughout the park and nearby provide great hiking opportunities. Swimming, fishing, and electric-powered motorboating are popular in the lake. Cross-country skiing permitted in winter by walking around entrance gate; all facilities closed including restrooms. |

Our family recently took a weekend camping trip to Emerald Lake State Park. We are native Vermonters and love to explore our state parks in the summers. We had never camped at the park but had gone to the sandy beach for day use in the past. What a great place Emerald Lake is. The campsites are lovely, set on the mountainside above the lake. Some sites have leantos all with water, restrooms, as well as showers nearby. There are beauiful well kept natural trails throughout the park as well as boating opportunities, (canoe, kayak, and rowboat rentals) as well as fishing, a well stocked concession and a nature center. The park was incredibly clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
We had a fabulous time and recommend this park to anyone that enjoys the outdoors. |
